Bowling a maiden Dover

We arrived in Dover and could see France in the distance.. we were so close in fact that Phil's phone told him he had arrived in France and told him of the international roaming rates!

It was a great weekend despite its rocky beginnings (will let Phil digress on that later). We arrived on Saturday morning to see the Regatta in full swing with a rescue helicopter demonstration in the harbour. Later there was dragon boat and speed boat races.. and loads of stalls with gourmet, possibly french, food.

We headed up along the nature trails to view the cliffs sighted them and then dashed as it started to pour with rain to the Dover castle.

Loved the castle. We dashed between dry spaces and took tea before heading back to town.

In town we stumbled upon a basement wine bar and ended up staying for dinner and after dinner drinks talking with everyone down there whom ended up all belonging to the 'Dover Forum'!!

Ended up in a couples waterfront room with a balcony as the fire works went off.

The next day we headed to Canterbury to see the Cathedral and check out the shopping. The Cathedral was awesome and I really enjoyed the town.
