The traditional symbol for porn (XXX) also happens to be the symbol for the city of Amsterdam. Things have not changed in the redlight district at least.. our excellent christen hostel is smack dab in the middle of the red light district and more specifically on the transexuals street. And they work 24 hours a day. I was outside at 9am and couldnt help but notice the lady boys in the window as i walked past. hehe..

Today we did a 3 hour walking tour of the city, which was excellent and tip based (so you only gave what you felt was warrented). We may go on the pub crawl with them tomorrow night.

After which we high tailed it to the Van Gough museum where, in addition to the permanent collection(which includes picaso, rodin, mateasse etc) there was an excellent carrivagio and rembrant exhibition. Supurb.

We were both felling our feet by this point so caught a tram back to the Dam and I partook in the 'best fries in Amsterdam' with spicy mayo. I must say that they did live up to thair reputation. They were indeed fantastic chips. 🙂

Then we headed to the Anne Frank Museum. I read her diary in high school and it brought me to tears. The house/museum was some what spartin but still quite moving.

At this point we were on the verge of colapse so headed back to our haven in the transexual lane.
