London Town

Since being back from Ireland we have been Avbury, with my aunt Jean and Uncle Robin, to view the stone circles and get in touch with our stone age selves. Was great to walk around and be able to touch the stones (AND chase the sheep).

I joined the National Trust so will be dragging Phil to to many more house and gardens of the once english aristocricy (or gabby if your keen when you get here 😉 only £18.50 for under 26ers – usually over £40)

We have also gone back to Bath, with Aunt Irene and Uncle Alan, to try and see what we missed, and though we did see the the famous bridge and wier there is just so much too see and I, at least, will have to go back again.

We joined a free Bath walking tour and I thought it was fabulous (this was the point that Phil expressed his new found LACK of intrest in architecture and gardens – WHY COME TO ENGLAND PHIL?! if not for the bloody history :p )

Aside: Shelle we walked down the gravel path mentioned in Jane Austin's book Persuasions. 🙂

We are now in Potters Bar (london) after a sucessful bus and tube ride (delayed by 1 hours due to singal faults) we are enjoying the warm hospitality of my cousin and family. I have been happily surprised to find another national trust enthusiest in my cousin's wife Sue. *Glee*

Tomorrow is a new day as yet unplanned. And now we have internet access we will be sure to post!

Just a tip Cal, Make friends with someone else who has 'English Heritage' membership – then you can trade cards occasionally because not all the historic sites are part of the same group… 😉

Glad you're still lovin' it 🙂
