Wales

This is a post I wrote prior to our trip to Ireland:

Headed across the old bridge to Wales and saw our first castle, Chepstow Castle or as the Welsh like to call is Gastell Casgwent. It is perched on a cliff in Wales with a river dividing it from England on the far bank.

Then headed to a really magic place called Tintern Abby (Abaty Tyndyrn). It was sacked for all its wealth by Henry the 8th and left a ruin; and an impressive ruin I might add.

It really is a captivating place grass on the floor and the sky for a ceiling with views of the countryside in place of stain glass. I got the feeling I was standing in a very spiritual forest – a sacred place. It apparently inspired Wordsworth to write "Composed a few miles above Tintern Abby".
