First impressions were mostly that Naples was the land of Muffin tops (even on beggars).. but under the dirty (slightly over weight) exterior there is an amazing city. We spent the day exploring the historical centre yesterday and were amazed to uncover a Nativity Scene heaven. There are streets dedicated to little hand painted figurines for inclusion in complex, and bazaar, nativity scenes. From Pizza restaurants (with mooving chef and lit oven) to soccer players, with waterfalls just for that special touch. Every ones tastes are catered for. It really was like a christmas had exploded in all its kitch glory.

The Pizza here has indeed been ‘to die for’. Simple and fresh its a sensation in the mouth.

Today we are off to the Archaeological Museum here that holds all the Roman treasures from Pompeii and other areas around Italy then to night we are on the long boat to Sicily!
