Bragging Rights

Just a quickie to brag that I went to Jamie Oliver’s Tratoria Restaurant 15 last night for a spot of desert with Daph.

We had been to Cay Tre for dinner. Total Cost £14 for shared starter of summer rolls then D got a Small Pho and I selected the pork Loin over cold vermicelli salad. SO CHEAP!

Having discovered that the waitress could only see me (Daphs gesticulations for attention seem to fall on deaf eyes :p) and the fact that there were no ‘banana fritters with ice cream’ available we headed off with a vague intention of
a) walking off the dinner and
b) finding something sweet to negate any benefits of walking..

As we past the turn off for my old flat I suggested we see if we could get in to Jamie’s (on first name basis – we are locals after all :p) tratoria. Once the entrance was confionted and actually entered we were quickly seated at a bar by the window and shown the desert menu. We got a Crème brûlée and Chocolate Brownie to share. Both safe bets.

Once ordered the unashamed photo session took place – with much posing with the menu by moi and some more artistic photos of the food by daph. The food was basic and unexceptional – not bad by any means. That said the atmosphere was good and the place smelled great.

The total cost wad £14 for the Crème brûlée, Chocolate Brownie with Jaffa Yogurt/cream (??) a coffee and a pink grapefruit juice. Worth it for the thrill if not the food. 🙂

We both have plans for future brunch action.

The fun sounds gastronomical!!
Have you ever considered restaurant journalism? (After all the iron chef study and all…)
